The Munich Summer Institute takes place in the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, located in a beautiful building in the heart of Munich.

Getting to the venue
You can get to the venue in various ways, but as Munich has an excellent public transportation system that consists of trains, subways, trams, and buses, we would recommend you to make use of public transports. Most locations within the inner city can be conveniently reached within less than 30 minutes.
The underground station “Odeonsplatz” is located directly next to the venue and is frequented by underground lines U3, U4, U5 and U6.
Tickets can be bought at automatic vending machines at underground and train stations or inside buses and trams.

From Munich Airport
From the airport, you can take the S1 or the S8 train into the city and get off at “Marienplatz”. From there, it is a 10 minute walk.
From Munich Central Station
From the the central station, you can take any S-Bahn in the direction of Ostbahnhof and get off at “Marienplatz”. From there, it is a 10 minute walk. Another possibility is to take the subway U4 and U5 and get of at Odeonsplatz. From there, the venue is just a stone’s throw away.
Conference desk: registration & helpdesk
The conference desk is located on the in front of the lecture hall at the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. Upon arrival, please register so that you can receive your welcome pack and conference badge. The conference desk also serves as an information point and helpdesk. If you have any questions, concerns or problems, you can always find members of the local organizing committee here. You can easily recognize organizers by their team badges.
Connectivity
During the MSI, free wifi access is available at the Academy of Sciences and Max Planck Institute. You can have access to the network “Bayern WLAN”.
Kindly note that “eduroam” also works throughout the Max Planck Institute where the poster presentations will take place. If you have any connection problems, please contact the local organizing committee at the conference desk.
